Born in Paris in 1985, where she lives and works. Holder of a Master’s degree in clinic psychology since 2009, Louise Skira dedicates herself to analog photography and classical music, that she played since the age of 16.

As she’s a painter’s daughter, art is for her a natural way to speak and communicate. For more than 15 years, she had chosen photography as her main means of expression. Photography allows her to recreate images of her inner world, her imagination, that no other medium could exteriorize, like an intermediary between an intimate psychic world and visual reality.

After a first exhibition in Paris in 2009, Louise Skira shows the ITINERANCE series, focussed on Paris 19th arrondissement by night, to a spanish audience for the first time, with an exhibition in a young gallery in Barcelona : Alex Telese. A german tour follows in 2012, with four exhibitions in Northern Germany : Dresden, Kiel, Magdeburg and Hanover. Then comes exhibitions in Tallinn (Estonia) and Saragossa (Spain).Being a great success, ITINERANCE returns to Germany alongside of 2 other series CHAMBRE INTERIEURE and LAZARE, for a great tour starting from February 2015, and focussed on the theme of the journey.

Meanwhile, PROMETHEE, a photographic series based on Plato’s Myth of the Cave, made in Paris in Black and White between 2012 and 2013, is shown at Alex Telese’s gallery in Barcelona in february 2014, then in Pont-L’Evêque at the Centre Culturel des Dominicaines in France in september 2014.

OPUS is premiered in 2015 at the Royal Conservatory of Brussels in Belgium, before going to Munich in Germany later the same year.

Between 2015 and 2017, the GARE series is created in collaboration with SNCF, France’s national state-owned railway company. This work focusses on several parisian stations’ architecture, including the Gare Montparnasse, Massy TGV, Paris-Gare-de-Lyon and the Gare Saint-Lazare.
